09:00 - 09:45 | Panel Discussion: Sustainable production in Industry 4.0 - the digital circular economy as an update
Prof. Dr. Peter Post (Vice President & Head of the Sustainability Task Force, Plattform Industrie 4.0 Festo SE & Co. KG), Johannes Heereman (CEO, NORMCUT UG c/o MotionLab), Dr. Sarah Brückner (Head of VDMA), Mark Edler (Vice President Global Environment, Health, Safety, Weidmüller Interface GmbH), Rebecca Tauer (WWF Deutschland)
Industrie 4.0 technologies open up the possibility of rethinking industrial value creation and sustainably aligning business models and production processes along a digital circular economy. Value creation networks are taking the place of linear supply chains. Remanufacturing replaces the disposal of old machines. The digital twin creates transparency across an entire production cycle and products are managed throughout their entire life cycle. The Industrie 4.0 platform will show development paths for sustainable production and present companies that are already producing in the spirit of the circular economy. A discussion panel will highlight the potentials as well as the challenges for industrial companies on the way to a digital circular economy.

11:00 – 11:10 | Festo Core Range: proven products newly imagined
Liu Xuhui, Thomas Martin, Bernd Müller
Rethinking the obvious – that was our goal when our engineers put the Core Range under the microscope one more time. We wanted to incorporate products from process automation, from the electric and pneumatic control chain, in each case below the control level, into the Core Range. The end result is a selection from our portfolio that offers the best value for money for every function – with the expected high quality. And where the experts spot that the value for money could be even better, they set to work again to make these products even more economical, even more well-engineered and even more efficient.
